It is overwhelming to consider there are more planets than stars. Earth comes from this astral pool. It is where we are headed. All human endeavour has been towards cosmos, a cosmic future...and we consult the stars on our journey.
On the edge of space travel, we have many questions... What will our encounters with extra-terrestrial life and culture be like? Will we acquire skills in time to meet the challenge of climate crisis or abandon ship? Will globalisation bring societies together or force strife? How can digital skills be used to communicate with terrestrial species? What of alien semiotics? Can our consciousness comprehend changes in time and space? Are we able to accept scientific challenges to secular belief? Can we accept varied life forms and cosmic inclusivity?
In Planet of Dreams 2022, I asked, ‘In what ways can the dream state guide us?’ about stewardship of earth and solar system commons. In Astro Pool I question, 'Are we ready?' using archive science fiction film, NASA and deep-space research, personal design and film and asemic works.
